update #36
an unexpected encounter
it is through their acting that organisations leave massive corrosive traces which not only endanger the fragile ecological and climatic balances in that thin layer of earth and atmosphere to which we are confined, but also create a continuous agony of attention that affects our well being.
where to look for answers to overcome that? what do we need to take care of to reverse this situation and work toward a world of non-disposability?
these issues emerged as an important subject during a two day workshop with a small group of designers and artists whom i invited to work on the notion of scenarios of acting in free format setting.
and it was by incident that we visited the exhibition at the bourse de commerce in paris about the arte povera movement. it provided an unexpected reference.
in this update i explore what scenarios of acting could be developed when we look into the possibilities of distinctive and reduced materiality, while creating unseen meaning.
as a variation on a theme: arte povera as organisation
