For a Dutch bank Stordes developed an idea how the meaning of banking could be refocused to reflect a more soulful way of serving clients. It was based on some core beauties of what a bank is in essence.

The work of Juan Muñoz, Many Times (1999) and the quote relating to his work was our inspiration.

The concept of flipping the balance sheets was the core of this idea:

the ‘balance sheet`’ of a bank

as an intermediate aggregation of

its clients’ financial status and trajectories

based on their actions and aspirations

From this concepts Stordes envisioned new attitudes towards the various element of the practise of banking:

the incredible richness of a diversity of customers

the space and the border: reframing regulations

materialisation of the bank

the form, the tactility, the temperature, the colour the sound, the smell, the taste, the structure.
