organisations as works of art
Stordes strives to stretch, by exploring the richness of the arts, what it means to be an organisation in this time and age. To appreciate the paradoxes of human life and incorporate them in the reality and the practices of an organisation. To activate involvement beyond known contextual and organisational conventions. To shape an organisation that materially and mentally exhibits its meaning.
For an organisation to be a work of art in its own right.
art as power
Art deals with the world in provoking ways through expressive and explorative means and formats. Art embraces the human existence in its full richness, from the deeply troubling to the magnificently beautiful. It shapes the perceptions of human purpose and existence and deals with behaviour in unforeseen manners.
Stordes regards social structures, such as organisations, as deeply human expressions which have defining implications for our well-being and for the earth as a whole.
And as such art is not to be discarded when dealing with organisations, it leads where the ordinary does not suffice.
traces of impact
Stordes’ work for companies and its more autonomous work leave remarkable traces in people’s minds, shape intentions and activate new behaviour. Stordes instigates this through images, texts, meetings, conversations, drawings, interventions, icons, walks, exhibitions, books.
Our work is not driven by predetermined objectives, but by an artistic mind to open up new vista’s and bring unknown horizons of actions through intens, fuzzy, determined, open work with our audiences.
Our work is about organisations and its people. It allows and enables people and their organisation to take a durable position vis-à-vis an increasingly multi-dynamic environment and to find the liberty to move to what was unimaginable.
Stordes leaves its works to be mentally owned by its clients and audiences. We must let go, for the work to exist.
Over the years we have begun to trust the impact of our work.
Since 2004 Stordes worked for a broad array of clients on a wide variety of subjects, enticing each of them to become more of a work of art in its own right and context, with reinforced meaning and expression.
