experiencing avant garde

Striving to move organisations towards being a little more of a work of art, we engage, as a starting point, regularly with executive in remarkable venues for contemporary art. In these settings we start sharing a wonder about the remarkable qualities of art. A wonder that might begin with just seeing the works or sometimes finding the work strange and incomprehensible. We try to have an as open as possible mind set and let the works speak to us.

After a first encounter we begin to recognise and enjoy some of the particularities of the works. It is the combination of taking our time and discussing what we see and experience. The works might lead us to talking about the parallels and the difference with leading organisations. The works and the conversations opens minds in all kind of unexpected ways.

Every encounter with the arts evolves differently. The context, the art, the people and the setting are always different, but the effect is, thanks to the qualities of the art always worthwhile.

reflections

Every encounter is followed by a document reflecting on the visit and the dialogue. It allows for distance and time and provides the opportunity to think about the various angles of the visit and the document evokes sometimes questions, in other cases it provides a deeper thought or an alternative view.

These document are illustrated with different art works than we gave seen during the visit to extend the possibilities in the arts. They force you to reflect on what’s seen and said and take it further, The documents are important to our work. It are a kind of positioning paper of the continuous development process.

The refections consist of texts and one or more images of art works that have kind of reference to the writer part of the reflections. Here you find an impression of these reflection with a picture of the works visited, reference picture and the quoted from the text.

how unusual is an artistic intervention?

it can also just exist, without the big words

yet it does not leave you untouched

by its wilful expression, full of meaning to be explored

veiled inevitability

recognisability

when it concern diversity and unity the artist is helped by the fact that his work sprouts from a single person

but what is the idea and the methods to shape that paradox with the people in an organisations, which all its pluriformiteit?

teams

We also engage with (leadership) teams in those interesting settings while linking the experiences to the context of their organisation and its relationship with its environment.

For one organisation the visit was a trigger to work in the extension of the management team’s agenda with an item that was unconsciously neglected.

In another case we worked with the team on probing them to experiment with new settings for their regular meetings to allow a more in depth experience and stimulate a creative attitude towards the issues at hand. This was triggered by a intense curated visit to an exhibition of Anne Imhof.
