An artwork in portfolio format about profound attention
In an age of agony of attention the artworks offers its own way to contemplate the meaning of attention. It addresses various angles of the notion and the essence of attention and provides a positive outlook on the possibilities of somebody and something.
It contains a constitution for artistic interventions to provoke profound attention in collective settings. Seven distinct elements that make up a kind of programming language to create endless collections of outcomes.
The work stands on its own but it is in essence only complete by the interventions it induces. With understanding, connections and maybe even euphoria as a result.
The portfolio is composed as one whole work of art and contains printed sheets with texts, images and original drawings.
The artwork is made as an edition of 25 unique copies.

this portfolio with sheets and drawings is a multiple art work.
it is built around three parts.

the first part of the work consists of 24 sheets with words and thoughts. it is the result of my personal reflections on ‘the agony of attention’.

the second part consists of a set of photographs, called ‘somebody, something’. the photographs are taken of various compositions of drawings of which the making was inspired by the texts of the first part.

the third and final part has given its title ‘the possibilities of somebody and something’ to the portfolio as a whole. it is a constitution for artistic interventions to provoke profound attention.
the constitution acts as a kind of open framework, without becoming a blueprint, with various elements and references to build specific occurrences of the work in various settings and circumstances.
